Self Portraits

June 5, 2010:
This picture is not my favorite at all, but I had to get creative with the conditions I was given-Wisconsin Weather.

For this shot I overlayed a p[icture I took of sparkling water to a very basic picture of my eye and played with the color balance and made a high contrast.

This picture turned out very well, I thought. I love the lighting and the colors in the old wallpaper. My face looks a little off from the mood I wanted to express, but I still am very happy with the turn out.

LYRICS.

"Don't ask me how or why
But i'm gonna make it happen this time
My teenage dream tonight
Yeah i'm gonna make it happen this time
Fame, doin' it for the fame
cause we wanna live the life
Of the rich and famous."

Portraits

May 20 2010: I used this photo for my final also. I really loved this shot from the beginning, I did not do much editing at all just layed a color balance layer on it to emphasize the warm colors on the girls' skin. the sun was just setting over the field and proved to be perfect timing!

Portraits

May 20 2010: A portrait can be something as simple as an image of a person, but when it captures that emotions and personalities that's when I become interested. I was so happy with the result of this shot because I feel it does a great job in showing who these three girls are-my best friends.

Colors!

Violet: The color violet symbolizes romance or nostalgia. The girl seems to be longing for something of the past- something she won't be able to obtain. I really love this picture and the mood expressed. It is sad, but pretty at the same time.

Grey: There were many different meanings for the color grey, but the ones that proved to show in this picture were modesty, security, and some what of sadness. The stones overlapping the girl show security.

Colors!

Yellow: Yellow may not be the most apparent color, but I feel the meaning of yellow is directly expressed. Chelsea, my great little model, shows energy, happiness, freedom, all things that I feel the color yellow represents.
Green: I like this picture because the green takes up most of the picture and makes Chelsea stand out. I think Green represents youth, newness, growth, and curiosity and I think this picture captures most of those.

Some Filters

April 28: Ms. M showed us some new filters and how to correctly use them. I didn't really have the right pictures to use, but found some to practice on.

My Alphabet

For our third major asignment, we had to create our own sequence of the alphabet. I really enjoyed working on this one because everyone has so mnay different interpretations of how they found their letters. I decieded ahead of time that I wanted to just stick to letters of signs. I played with the colors and lighting on most of every individual picture to create a clashy colorful result. I am pretty proud of myself on this one!

Space Montage

April 20, 2010: Our second assignment was to create a Space Montage. This was the first time we worked with layers incorporating other images on to a background. This really helped me learn the basics of Photoshop and opened my eyes to all of the things you can do in the program. I think this piece surprisingly captured what I wanted to convey. Overall I was pleased with the result.

My Tiny Planet

April 12, 2010: For our first assignment we had to create our own "tiny planet." I used a picture of a beach in Naples, Florida that I had recently taken on Spring break. It didn’t quite turn out as how I hoped but I felt it was still a success considering it was my first time working in Adobe Photoshop.
